Progress on Sternfeld Shield Embroidery

More progress made on this project. Getting the yellow done first. Below, I had some stars done and was part way through stitching down the gold bend up towards the top.

Tried to get a close up of one of the stars to show the steps in them. Below is the star filled in with the laid stitches.

And below there are three crossing stitches, one across the middle and one each on the upper and lower points.

And finally, the couching stitches, one in the middle of each of the upper and lower points and three across the middle. Also a good close up of the gold bend.

And now I am working on the large gold area in the middle. I went back and forth over how I wanted to approach this since there is a big wreath in the middle of it. I ended up deciding to do the "smaller" sections on their own. So far it's working fairly well, but it's a big area.
